Lloydminster RCMP arrested a 22-year-old female after she was found with a firearm on a bus bound for Regina last week.
Around 4 p.m. on Aug. 18, the Edmonton Police Service informed RCMP of a passenger possibly carrying a loaded firearm on a bus bound for Regina, Sask. The police attended a planned stop in Lloydminster and arrested the female.
When they searched her bags they revealed she was in possession of a sawed-off rifle along with prohibited magazine and ammunition.
Lativia Kay, 22, a resident of Regina has been charged with:
- – Possession of a prohibited firearm with ammo.
- – Unsafe storage of firearm
- – Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose
Kay was released by a Justice of the Peace to appear in Lloydminster, Alta. Provincial Court on September 24.
