Red Bicycle Communications’ Downtown Lloydminster marketing contest is back for its second year.
The contest aims to provide support and promotion to a downtown business, enhancing marketing efforts and strengthening the brand.
“Some examples would be a basic website, social media, professional photography, videography, marketing strategies,” said Jill Kelly, owner of Red Bicycle Communications. “The whole thing comes down to tailoring marketing to that business.”
She says Red Bicycle tailors its response and efforts to each individual business they work with.
The contest prize is $5,000 worth of marketing with $2,500 coming from Red Bicycle and the other half coming from the City of Lloydminster’s Downtown Area Redevelopment Committee (DARC).
Applications are currently open, businesses can either apply themselves or can be nominated by someone else. The businesses have some parameters to meet for them to be eligible for the contest.
“Not a chain, not a co-op, not a franchise. It must be an independent local business,” said Kelly. “We want to know why you think you should win and something you love about downtown, and what your biggest challenge is as a business owner.”
Kelly emphasizes people applying or nominating should put something in their application that Red Bicycle can help with.
Submissions are currently open and the deadline to apply is Oct. 18. People can apply at Red Bicycle’s website.
A panel of marketing experts from Red Bicycle Communications along with members of the DARC will evaluate the applications and choose the winners.
The winner will be contacted directly and announced Oct. 29 on Red Bicycle and Downtown Lloydminster’s social media pages.
