Vermilion RCMP has arrested Michael Racicot in relation to reports of an individual going door to door in the Hamlet of Derwent.
On Nov. 1, 2024 at 8:06 a.m., Vermilion RCMP received a report of suspicious person in Derwent. Vermilion RCMP located the suspect's stolen vehicle.
With the assistance of Police Dog Services, officers located and apprehended the individual at a nearby residence. A search incidental to arrest located break-in tools.
Racicot, 37, has been charged with:
- Break and enter into a residence with intent
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
- Possession of instrument for copying credit card data
- Possession of identity document
- Possession of break in instruments
Racicot was taken before a Justice of the Peace and was remanded into custody. He is scheduled to appear on Nov. 18, 2024 at the Alberta Court of Justice in Vermilion.
