On Nov. 28, 2023, Kitscoty RCMP responded to a serious collision involving a tow truck.
The incident occurred on a roadway near Kitscoty. The tow truck, parked with emergency lights flashing, was struck. The collision left the operator with life-altering injuries.
The investigation revealed the tilt deck was in a ramp position when the accused drove up the ramp, striking the operator.
Cheyanne Morgan, 37, from Luseland, Sask., faces charges of dangerous driving causing bodily harm and driving while prohibited. She will appear in Lloydminster provincial court on Jan. 14, 2025.
“This tragic collision has changed the life of this individual,” said Cpl. Brian Weisbrod of the Kitscoty RCMP.
“This serves as a heartbreaking reminder to slow to 60 km/h when passing tow trucks, emergency vehicles, or road maintenance crews with flashing lights. This simple action can save lives.”
Kitscoty RCMP urges drivers to stay alert and adhere to safety regulations near active emergency scenes.
