Vermilion RCMP has charged a 37-year-old Fort Saskatchewan man with fraud.
Bryce Allan Smith was charged with fraud under $5,000. The charges come following an RCMP investigation into cheque fraud.
The investigation began after a member of the public informed RCMP one of their personal cheques had been deposited by someone they didn't know. The RCMP investigation led to the identification and subsequent charging of the suspect.
Smith was taken before a Justice of the Peace and was released on a Release Order. He is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 13 at the Alberta Court of Justice in Vegreville.
