The City of Lloydminster is celebrating after receiving the Canadian Award for Financial Reporting.
They received the award for their annual financial report for Dec. 31, 2023. It was given to the city by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada.
“Having our municipality recognized through a Canadian award for financial reporting highlights our long-standing commitment to transparency and responsible management of public dollars,” said Lloydminster Mayor Gerald Aalbers.
To receive this award, a government unit must publish an easily readable and efficiently-organized annual financial report.
“In addition to detailed financials, these reports contain highlights about municipal activities over the past year,” said Aalbers.
