Meadow Lake RCMP make drug bust

RCMP seized drugs, cash, and an imitation firearm during a traffic stop in Meadow Lake on Feb. 26.

Around 10 p.m., officers with the Meadow Lake RCMP Crime Reduction Team (CRT) stopped a vehicle leaving a business on the 100 block of 9th St. West, RCMP said.

Police said they arrested the female driver after discovering her license was suspended.

During a search of the vehicle, officers found 27 grams of methamphetamine, 15 grams of cocaine, an imitation firearm, $675 in cash, and unstamped tobacco, according to RCMP.

Alexis Siewert, 27, of Meadow Lake, faces several charges, including possession for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine and cocaine under Section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

Siewert is also charged with possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000 and possession of an imitation weapon for a dangerous purpose under the Criminal Code.

Siewert is scheduled to appear in provincial court in Meadow Lake on April 28.
