The draws for Beer Maynia, a Kiwanis Club of Lloydminster fundraising event, had people ready to party last week.
The event, which took place at the Holiday Inn on May 14, gave teams a chance to win some of the 90 flats of beer purchased for the event.
This year’s competition saw 35 entries and raised $3,500 for the club.
Out of 35 teams, six went home with prizes.
Lisa and Jordie Lehmond were on hand to accept the first and second prize, which was awarded to the Brew Tang Clan. In total, they took home 55 flats split between five teammates.
“Events like this support our community,” said Lisa. “It’s an awesome way to give back to them and also have a chance to get something back in return.”
Vera Gallant, Kiwanis member and club secretary, liked how the event turned out again this year.
“I want to thank everyone who continues to support our organization,” said Gallant. “We do this for the kids, everything Kiwanis does is for the kids.”
The community is encouraged to watch for the beginning of ticket sales for their $10,000 draw, which will be starting soon.
