In the next 15-months, he will complete 200 hours of community service and faces a ban on owning any fire-starting tools. Sieben is also serving 18-months probation from the July 22 ruling in Saskatchewan Court. RCMP charged him last August.

During the months of July and August of 2024, Macklin Fire Department saw a significant increase in hay bail fires.

Firefighters in the department were credited with helping figure out it was Sieben who was starting them.

The courts did not give a restitution order with the sentence. Prior to the arson spree, Sieben had no criminal record.
