Lloydminster RCMP launched an investigation in January 2026 after receiving reports of financial irregularities involving a former employee.

According to police, an investigation revealed that approximately $10,000 worth of fuel was allegedly purchased for personal use through the unauthorized use of the organization’s resources.

Investigators also determined that about $6,000 worth of flooring materials had been stolen from the authority.

Mounties, with assistance from the Saskatchewan Crime Reduction Team, later executed a search warrant at a property in Marsden, Sask. During the search, officers recovered 31 of the 52 boxes of stolen flooring.

Lori Neufeld, 49, of Marsden, has been charged with fraud over $5,000 and theft over $5,000.

In a press release, police highlighted the local impact of the alleged crimes, noting that the housing authority provides critical affordable options for low-income and vulnerable residents and that the misappropriation of its resources can significantly harm community services.

Neufeld has been served with a summons and is scheduled to make her first appearance in Lloydminster Provincial Court on Aug. 17.
