The 90-minute, self-led digital course is being offered by the City of Lloydminster‘s Social Policy Framework Mental Health Working Group.

Family Community Support Services (FCSS) hosts the training locally, LivingWorks delivers the course, and the Government of Saskatchewan provides the funding.

Organizers say the program aims to increase awareness, build confidence in having conversations about suicide prevention and teach participants how to respond using evidence-based approaches.

Organizers are opening registration in batches of 50 participants, offering a total of 200 licenses.

Once registered, participants will have 60 days to complete the course before their access code expires. Those who successfully complete the training will receive a certificate of completion.

Residents can find registration details online at Lloydminster.ca/FCSSEvents or by calling 780-875-6184. Anyone requiring assistance accessing the online platform can contact FCSS at the same number for support.

Officials remind the public that if they or someone they know is experiencing a mental health crisis, they should call 911 immediately or contact a healthcare professional.
