Fairgoers may have experienced a couple of rainy days, but when the sun was out, it was scorching hot.

Highlights from the weekend included covering the inaugural Farmer Games and witnessing the camaraderie among competitors, photographing Toque (who are phenomenal live) and seeing all the smiles on attendees’ faces.

Saturday’s grandstand performance by Toque may have been moved indoors due to the threat of bad weather, but the fireworks went ahead as scheduled in what proved to be an impressive and lengthy display.

We sometimes forget the work that goes into organizing such an event. Kudos to the committee and the countless volunteers who make the fair a reality for the thousands who attend each year.

After this year’s four days of fun, I’m excited to see what next year brings.
