Executive manager of corporate services Adèle Wakaruk presented the Q2 financial report, highlighting the city’s strong reserve status.

The report provides a detailed breakdown of municipal revenues, operating expenses, capital investments and long-term debt obligations to ensure continued fiscal transparency and accountability.

Key highlights from the second-quarter report include:

  • Revenue and Operating Performance: The city recorded $89.37 million in revenues against $53.32 million in operating expenditures through the first six months of the year, tracking in line with budgeted expectations.
  • Strong Reserves and Liquidity: As of June 30, 2026, the city maintained $100.47 million in total liquid assets — comprising cash and short- and long-term investments—which fully cover and support $85.28 million in restricted, unrestricted, and offsite reserves.
  • Debt Management: The report confirmed that the municipality’s outstanding debt and debt servicing payments remain well below provincial statutory limits, preserving future financial flexibility.

Administration noted that making quarterly financial data accessible to the public reinforces the municipality’s fiduciary responsibility and supports sound long-term planning.

Council accepted the report as information.
