Two Air Canada ground operations employees have been arrested for their alleged involvement in a drug trafficking operation operating out of Montréal-Trudeau International Airport.

Federal policing authorities announced Wednesday that search warrants are being executed at two residences and a vehicle in the greater Montréal area, alongside a search at the airline’s Dorval work base.
The RCMP’s airport and federal investigations detachment alleges the suspects conspired to bypass security protocols, moving luggage through secure areas of the airport to facilitate cocaine importation and cannabis exportation.
The investigation was launched in May 2026 after Canada Border Services Agency officers intercepted 62.5 kilograms of cocaine hidden in four backpacks on a flight arriving from Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. Authorities say an additional 56 kilograms of cannabis were seized over the course of the ongoing probe.
The two suspects will be questioned and released pending further legal proceedings. Authorities noted that further analysis of the seized evidence could result in additional arrests and charges.
