The ministry tabled a nil report to the Standing Committee on Public Accounts, confirming no divisions reported losses during the period.

How the Quarterly Reporting Process Works

Under Saskatchewan’s school division financial reporting rules, divisions are required to disclose any losses of public money to the ministry each quarter.

Those figures are compiled into a provincewide report and presented to the Standing Committee on Public Accounts, the legislative body responsible for reviewing government and public-sector spending.

A nil report means the ministry received no disclosures of loss from any of the province’s school divisions for the three-month period.

What It Means for Area Divisions

The report covers all Saskatchewan school divisions, including those serving the Lloydminster area such as Light of Christ School Division and Living Sky School Division.

The quarterly disclosure requirement is the same process that previously flagged a loss elsewhere in the region. Light of Christ School Division reported it had lost more than $16,000 to fraud in an earlier reporting period, a loss that was disclosed through this same quarterly system.

No similar disclosures were made by any division for the quarter ending Aug. 31, 2026, according to the ministry’s release.

Broader Context for Local School Divisions

The nil report lands as Lloydminster-area divisions continue to manage their own budgets and funding decisions. Lloydminster Public School Division recently saw its share of the seamless education levy increase slightly, while the division has also pursued capital projects such as funding for renovations at Avery school.
