On Oct. 9, Maidstone RCMP, with assistance from the Saskatchewan RCMP Lloydminster Crime Reduction Team and the Saskatchewan Trafficking and Response Team, pulled over a vehicle on Highway 17 near Lloydminster as part of an ongoing drug trafficking investigation. Two adult females were arrested at the scene.

A search of the vehicle yielded approximately 101 grams of cocaine, 78 grams of methamphetamine, 250 millilitres of gamma hydroxybutyrate (GHB), a small amount of fentanyl, cash and drug trafficking paraphernalia.

Later that same day, investigators executed a search warrant at a home in Lashburn. Officers recovered an additional 33 grams of cocaine, 14 grams of methamphetamine, 1.2 litres of GHB, a crossbow and a loaded firearm.

Chelsey Hart, 34, of Lashburn is charged with:

  • Three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking (methamphetamine, cocaine, and other substances) under Section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

  • One count of possession of fentanyl under Section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

  • One count of unauthorized possession of a firearm under Section 91(1) of the Criminal Code.

Hart was also arrested on an outstanding Maidstone RCMP warrant for separate charges, including robbery with a firearm, assault causing bodily harm, and uttering threats.

She appeared in Lloydminster Provincial Court on Oct. 13.

The second female arrested during the traffic stop was released with charges pending. Police noted that because a court information has not yet been sworn, further details cannot be released at this time.

The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact Maidstone RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
