During its regular meeting, City Council approved awarding the Lloydminster Golf Course Operator Services contract to Wheaton Golf Services Ltd. The three-year agreement begins Jan. 1, 2027, and runs through Dec. 31, 2029, with an option to extend the partnership for up to two additional one-year terms ending Dec. 31, 2031.
Under the terms of the contract, base service costs are set at $140,000 for 2027, $142,500 for 2028 and $144,000 for 2029. Additionally, the agreement incorporates a revenue-sharing structure: if annual golf revenue surpasses $1,000,000 in any given contract year, three per cent of the revenue exceeding that threshold will be shared with the contractor.
Administration has also been authorized to sign and finalize all necessary documentation to seal the agreement. The transition maintains operational continuity at the municipal facility, which features an 18-hole championship layout, driving range and club amenities.
