Those numbers reflect the strong connection our news organization has built with its audience and the continued interest in local news, community events and the people who make the Border City unique.
In an era when local media faces increasing competition for people’s attention, the Meridian Source’s online readership demonstrates that residents continue to seek out stories about their community.
From breaking news and local government coverage to business developments, community events and human-interest features, the Source strives to deliver coverage that matters to the people who call Lloydminster and the surrounding region home.
The three million monthly Facebook views are particularly encouraging because they are organic, meaning they are generated without paid promotion.
That reach reflects the audience’s engagement with the Source’s content and the role readers play in helping local stories reach a wider audience.
Every time someone reads an article, shares a post or engages with a story, they help extend the reach of local journalism and bring important community information to more people.
The Meridian Source’s success would not be possible without its loyal readers. Their continued support, interest and engagement help keep local stories in the spotlight and ensure the community has access to news about the people, organizations and issues that shape everyday life.
The newspaper also extends its sincere thanks to the advertisers who continue to invest in the Meridian Source.
Local businesses are the backbone of the community, and their support helps sustain local journalism while connecting them with an engaged audience. Choosing to advertise locally helps strengthen the relationship between businesses and the residents they serve.
The Meridian Source recognizes that loyalty is earned, and it remains committed to providing meaningful coverage and keeping readers informed about what’s happening in their community.
Whether someone visits meridiansource.ca, follows the newspaper on Facebook or shares a story with friends and family, every interaction helps keep local journalism thriving.
