Saskatchewan’s provincial parks officially opened for the 2026 season Thursday, May 14, introducing a new country music concert series alongside returning outdoor programs.

Alana Ross, Minister of Parks, Culture and Sport, said staff have spent the off-season preparing campsites and trails for the annual influx of visitors.
“We are always excited when camping season kicks off and visitors begin to fill the parks,” Ross said in a news release. “Our staff have worked hard to get everything ready… and we are excited to share what makes our parks so special.”
New Country Music Partnership
Highlighting the 2026 schedule is a new partnership with the Saskatchewan Country Music Association. The collaboration will bring live country music performances to various provincial parks throughout July and August.
Educational Programs and Favourites
The province is also reintroducing “Discovery Packs,” which feature self-guided activities designed for families. This year’s themes include:
- Cosmic Club
- Junior Ecologist: Forest Exploration
- Creatures of the Past
- Butterflies and Blooms
- Fungi Friends
Seasonal staple events such as Back in the Boreal, Sask Summer Cinemas and the Cannington Fair are also confirmed to return.
