Conservation officers seek public help after illegal dumping near Harlan

Provincial conservation officers are turning to the public for help after discovering a large pile of household garbage and personal items illegally dumped north of Harlan, Sask.

Lloydminster conservation officers located the discarded items on April 20 along grid road 797.

Investigators recovered several specific articles at the scene, including men’s clothing ranging in size from extra-large to double-extra-large, women’s clothing, two medium-sized duffle bags and toiletries.

Among the debris, officers also found unique personal belongings, including an article bearing the name “Jaron” and a minor hockey medal from the 2014-15 Onion Lake Minor Hockey Association season.

While evidence was collected at the site, authorities have not yet identified the individuals responsible.

SaskTIP is offering a cash reward of up to $2,000 for anonymous information that leads to an arrest or conviction in the case.

Anyone with information is asked to call the toll-free Turn In Poachers and Polluters (TIPP) line at 1-800-667-7561, or submit a report online at saskatchewan.ca/TIPP. Callers are not required to give their names, and calls are not traced or recorded.
