Campbell, who currently serves as the president and CEO of Crown Investments Corporation (CIC), will officially join SGI on Aug. 1. He is scheduled to fully assume the top leadership role on Oct. 1.

Campbell has led CIC since 2020, a role that involved providing strategic direction and performance oversight to SGI. His career includes nearly 30 years with the Government of Saskatchewan, including almost two decades serving at the deputy minister level.

“We are very pleased to welcome Kent to SGI,” SGI board chair Gary Vidal said in a news release. “He is a thoughtful and experienced leader who understands both the complexity of our environment and the importance of the work our employees do every day.”

Vidal added that the board is confident Campbell’s background in governance and financial stewardship will build on the Crown corporation’s current foundation.

During his tenure at CIC, Campbell worked closely with SGI to guide the insurer through transition periods. Officials noted his familiarization with SGI’s mandate, particularly the significance of the Saskatchewan Auto Fund to provincial residents.

“SGI is a strong organization with a clear vision, a unique business model and a culture that stands out,” Campbell said, noting he is honoured to lead the company’s next chapter. “What has always impressed me most is the commitment of employees and the way teams across the organization support customers and communities.”

Jeremy Harrison, the minister responsible for SGI, expressed confidence in the transition, pointing to Campbell’s deep familiarity with the province’s public sector.

“I am confident he will build on SGI’s strengths and ensure the organization continues to deliver for customers and communities across the province,” Harrison said.
