What’s new in Lloydminster: Community calendar

If you’re looking for something to do this Father’s Day weekend, Lloydminster has no shortage of activities for families, music lovers, car enthusiasts and barbecue fans.

Weekly Events & Ongoing Programs

  • Bingo at Moose Lodge
    • When: Every Monday and Wednesday evening. Doors open at 5 p.m., play begins at 7 p.m.
    • Details: Bingo is back! Please note that players must be 18 years of age or older to participate.

  • Chair Yoga at Alcurve
    • When: Every Thursday at 10:30 a.m.
    • Where: Alcurve Community Hall
    • Cost: $15 for drop-in, or $50 per month.

  • Southridge Playschool Registration
    • Details: The Southridge Playschool and Kindergym Society has officially opened registration for the upcoming Fall 2026-27 term, open to children ages 3 to 5.
    • Cost: One day a week is fully covered by the government affordability grant; two days a week is $325 for the full term.

Upcoming Date-Specific Events

  • June 19-21: Ribfest at the Lloyd Ex
    • Time: Beginning at 11 a.m. Friday and running through 7 p.m. Sunday.
    • Where: The Lloyd Ex
    • Cost: FREE admission (donations are encouraged).
    • Details: Border City Connects’ annual Ribfest returns! The three-day event features award-winning barbecue, a beach volleyball tournament, family activities and entertainment. Proceeds support Border City Connects.

  • June 20: Just Kruzin’ Annual Show & Shine
    • Time: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
    • Where: Cenovus Energy Hub
    • Details: Come out and see the classic rides! The Just Kruzin’ Specialty Vehicle Club is hosting its highly anticipated annual car show where car lovers can check out a variety of classic, custom and specialty vehicles.

  • June 20: Hotel California at the Vic Juba
    • Time: 7:30 p.m.
    • Where: Vic Juba Community Theatre
    • Details: Hotel California, billed as the original Eagles tribute band, takes the stage. Tickets are available through the theatre box office and online.

  • June 25: Doubles Crib Tourney
    • Time: Starting at 10 a.m.
    • Where: The Legacy Centre
    • Cost: $10 to play; $12 per person for lunch. Everyone is welcome to participate.

  • July 1: Canada Day Celebrations
    • Details: Residents can look forward to Canada Day festivities throughout Lloydminster, including family-friendly activities, entertainment and fireworks. Watch for full event details in upcoming editions of the Meridian Source.

  • Oct. 5: Electric Elton
    • Time: 7 p.m.
    • Where: Vic Juba Community Theatre
    • Details: Electric Elton: The Music and Legacy of Elton John comes to town. Tickets are available through the theatre box office.
