Today’s column will be a little shorter, as I have some neat photos to show off.

I often research historical pieces and I don’t have a lot of photos to show. Recently, however, I got a look at an old snow plane.
Walking into the building at Weaver Heritage Park, the mosquitos were certainly mean. History shined from the structure. Tons of vehicles filled the building and at the front was an old snow plane.

It was originally built in 1939 by Ken Wesson. He built the snow plane for his personal use but helped others during rough weather or blocked roads.
The snow plane was pretty cool to see up close. The large fan at the back propels the unit forward while the long “ski” feet at the front allow it to glide over the snow. Originally, it used a Ford Model A engine but was later converted to a jeep engine.
There’s not much more to say about the item, at least at this point, but I took plenty of photos and wanted to share a piece of history through these images.
