A 51-year-old man from the Montreal Lake Cree Nation faces charges after an altercation during a residential break-in in Macklin, Sask., on July 10.

Unity RCMP responded to a report of a break and enter at a home in the community, located approximately 110 kilometres south of Lloydminster, on July 10 at about 1 a.m.
Police say a man entered the home and was confronted by a female occupant. An altercation broke out between the two before the suspect fled. The woman did not report any significant physical injuries to police.
Mounties searched the area and arrested a suspect in Macklin at about 3:45 a.m. He was treated at a hospital for non-life-threatening injuries sustained during the altercation with the resident.
Corey Kristenson, 51, is charged with one count of break and enter and committing assault, and one count of mischief under $5,000.
Saskatchewan RCMP’s Police Dog Services and Forensic Identification Services assisted with the investigation.
Kristenson is scheduled to appear in North Battleford Provincial Court on July 15.
