The Prairie North Health Centre in Lloydminster will reopen for normal operations on Wednesday following a brief closure caused by a sewer backup.

The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) temporarily shut down the facility, located at 4910 50th St., on Tuesday to assess and remediate environmental issues after sewage entered the building due to a blocked line discovered Tuesday morning.
Health officials confirmed Tuesday afternoon that the blockage has been resolved and cleanup efforts are complete.
“The Saskatchewan Health Authority is committed to the safety of both its patients and staff in all our facilities while continuing to deliver health care services as close to home as possible,” the SHA said in a statement, thanking staff for their quick response and community members for their patience.
During the day-long closure, walk-in clinic services were cancelled and staff were redirected to alternate duties. Healthcare workers contacted patients directly to adjust care plans, resulting in approximately 100 appointments being rescheduled and 32 appointments delivered virtually or at alternate sites.
The plaza and health centre will resume regular operating hours and services on Wednesday morning.
