A 26-year-old woman faces an aggravated assault charge following an investigation into a violent incident on Onion Lake Cree Nation last month.

Onion Lake RCMP responded on July 8 after receiving a report that an adult male had been transported to hospital by emergency medical services with serious, suspicious injuries.
The Saskatchewan RCMP’s Battlefords serious crimes unit took over the case and determined the man was injured during an altercation at a local residence.
Officers searched the home with assistance from North Battleford forensic identification services and recovered evidence from the scene.
Investigators arrested Leah Thomas of Onion Lake Cree Nation on July 29. She has been charged with one count of aggravated assault.
Thomas is scheduled to make a court appearance in Onion Lake on Sept. 16.
