On the morning of Sept. 29, Lloydminster Conservation Officers responded to a Turn in Poachers (TIPP) report involving a deceased bull elk. Upon arriving at the scene, officers found the animal missing its head and three legs, with the remaining meat left to waste. Under provincial regulations, it is illegal to leave edible meat behind.

Investigators said a dark-coloured pickup truck was seen in the area on the night of Sept. 28. The vehicle fled westbound along Highway 303 toward Lloydminster when another vehicle approached the location. Local reports indicated a bull elk had been seen frequently in the area during the preceding week.
The incident is logged under case number GO 2026-1458. Saskatchewan Conservation Officers collected evidence at the site and are asking anyone with details about the vehicle or individuals involved to step forward.
Members of the public with information can contact the toll-free Turn In Poachers and Polluters line at 1-800-667-7561 or submit a report online at saskatchewan.ca/TIPP. Tipsters can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $2,000 through the SaskTIP Reward Program.
