Despite cloudy skies, about 200 classic and custom cars filled the Servus Sports Centre parking lot on June 14 for the 17th annual Just Kruzin’ car show.

“It’s gone fantastic with the weather we expected,” said organizer Gerry Duhaime. “We have 150 guest cars plus our cars, so around 200 cars here for the show.”

Duhaime described the attendance this year as a little down, but “Very, very respectable for the day with the weather the way it was.”

The show featured everything from rare antiques to flashy muscle cars. One of the standouts was a vintage fire engine, which travelled from Ponoka, Alta.

“That’s here, that’s quite amazing,” said Duhaime, referring to the truck. “I’ve seen a little dune buggy. I’ve seen the typical cars like a ’55 and a ’56 Chevy Nomad. There are some pretty cool cars here.”

Next year, organizers are planning for growth.

“The goal is bigger and better,” said Duhaime. “We’ll be at the Cenovus Hub where we have room for a lot more cars (upwards of 800), a lot more vendors and a lot more people for parking and stuff. It should be good for the show.”

Duhaime also praised Just Kruzin’ volunteers and sponsors others for their help, while thanking everyone who brought their vehicles to the show.

“Without the sponsors, this wouldn’t be a show,” he said. “It’s a fully sponsored show.”
