“Last year we only had a total of 32 respondents. As of today (July 15), we have 98 that have already come in,” said Town of Vermilion CAO Shannon Harrower.

“We’re getting a lot of feedback and I encourage everybody who hasn’t already to go online. We have a link on our main page; we’ve also launched it on social media. We have paper surveys at the front office if computers aren’t your thing.”

The budget engagement is available online for anyone looking to fill it out.

“From July 11 through Aug. 11, we want our residents and business owners to share their satisfaction and provide input on key service areas,” she said.

Questions asked cover multiple areas the town allocates funding to. People can say what they want prioritized for funding such as long-term infrastructure management, traffic safety improvements and road maintenance.

For budgetary items, the town is asking people to weigh in on items like taxes, funding, snow removal, community services, recreation facilities, bylaw enforcement and economic development.

They’re also asking about preferred contact methods for various aspects of the town such as general inquiry, bill payments, reporting a concern and more.

Surveys are available online or at city hall.
