9:45 a.m.
At approximately 7:30 a.m. on Aug. 23, the Lloydminster Fire Department responded to reports of an explosion on the city’s east side.
Neighbours told the Meridian Source they heard a large explosion from the SaskTel building at the corner of 48 Ave. and 48 St.















Multiple fire crews responded with support of the RCMP and paramedics. They forcibly removed the door before entering to investigate.
Within 15 minutes of making entry, crews could be seen starting to pack up.
There is no word of the cause or damage assessment.
We will provide more information when officials provide it.
