The exhibition, titled Lloyd Collects!, will run from July 7 to Sept. 13 and will feature items from the museum’s permanent collection alongside personal collections submitted by local residents.
According to the museum, the exhibit will examine why people collect, how collecting began and how the practice helped shape modern museums. Organizers are encouraging submissions of collections of any size, particularly items that are meaningful, nostalgic, unique or unexpected.
Selected participants will have their collections displayed as part of the exhibition and will be invited to share the stories behind their items with the community.
Submissions are open until March 20, 2026. Residents interested in participating must submit photos and a brief description of their collection online at Lloydminster.ca/LloydCollects. Museum staff will follow up with selected contributors.
Collections may be displayed in whole or in part. All items must be clean, in good condition, family-friendly, culturally appropriate and suitable for public display for up to two months.
More information about the exhibition and submission process is available on the museum’s website.
