Boisvert Gilbert Joseph

Boisvert Gilbert Joseph 1936-2023 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gilbert Joseph Boisvert, a husband, a father, a grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to many on November 27, 2023 at the North Battleford Union Hospital with family at his side. Gilbert was born the second of six children to Charles and Rose (Couture) April 29, 1936 in the Ferland District. In 1958 Gilbert met and married Bertha Jalbert October 20, 1960 and started their life together in Hart, Sask as the Pioneer elevator agent. After the loss of their first child in 1960, they had a son Charlie Gilbert, a son Maurice Aime, daughter Colette Aline and, a son Alain Gilles and that would complete their family. Bertha was able to work as a Nurse Aid at the Gravelbourg Hospital. Everyone says “go west young man, there’s a lot of opportunities in Lloydminster” so once again Gilbert migrated his family to Lloydminster. Life was great! Many oilfield jobs, and they all needed truckers. Gilbert got his class 1A license and away he went. Bertha was able to get nursing employment, the kids had jobs, things were really looking up. Gilbert loved music, and played guitar. Every week him and friends would gather to play music together. Boating, camping and trips to the states were enjoyed by him and Bertha, and that’s where the interest of vintage cars started. He was able to have one hauled home from the states. Gilbert has 3 vintage cars and loved to display them at car shows. The family was very saddened in 2009, after the passing of Bertha due to health problems. Gilbert met Rema Buksa from Lloydminster. They loved dancing, playing cards, camping, fishing, showing his vintage cars and having coffee with friends in the mornings at McDonald’s. In the evenings they would sit on the couch and listen to old time music and good country music. Gilbert was predeceased by baby Joseph, Bertha, son Maurice, father Charles and mother Rose. He is survived by wife Rema, his children Charlie (Penny), Colette, Alain (Wendy), grandchildren Michelle, Josh (Megan) and granddaughter Aeralyn, brothers Gilles (Pauline), Clement (Donna) Jean Louis, sisters Monique and Marie (Eddy) nephews and nieces, Rema’s children and many friends. Mass of Christian Burial conducted froom St. Anthony Roman Catholic Church Lloydminster, with Rev Fr Anthony Michael officiating December 5, 2023. Pallbearers were Alain Boisvert, Darren Boisvert, Josh Boisvert, Michelle Boisvert, Rocky Buksa and Stan Orlesky. Crossbearer, Edward Boyer. Burial will be in the spring, burial place will be Coronach Cemetery, Coronach, Sask.
