Pat was born on May 31, 1942 in Wiltshire England. Pat was the eldest in a family of eleven. At the age of 5 Pat, her brother Tom and her mother immigrated to Canada to join Pat’s Dad. They settled on the Prairies in Watson, Saskatchewan. Pat would leave home to enroll in nursing school and eventually become a psychiatric nurse in Weyburn, Saskatchewan. This is where she met the love of her life, Keith Leyen.
They started their family in Weyburn but ended up moving in 1971 to Lloydminster, Alberta for Keith’s work. She started her job as a full time mother and devoted wife and raised her 3 children.
While in Lloydminster, she became part of the community and participated in many functions. One of her hobbies was curling. She joined the curling league and met a lot of good friends. You could also find her at the local bingo hall.
She was an avid sports watcher and would enjoy watching golf, curling, the Oilers, and the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
In later years, Pat and Keith started to travel …purchasing a summer home on Lake Okanagan in Vernon, B.C. She spent lots of time in Vernon with family and friends. She especially enjoyed when all the grandkids would show up to her place.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Lloydminster and Grey Nuns Hospital Intensive Care Units.
A private family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Pat was a lively, funny, smart and loving wife and friend. We are blessed to have her in our lives
