It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lionel Donald Anderson on March 16, 2024. Lionel was born in Leoville, Saskatchewan, on April 22, 1947 to parents Art and Lisette Anderson. Lionel held many careers throughout his lifetime, from Manitoba Hydro to hotel owner in Zenon Park and Turtleford, to insurance, and then found his calling as a truck driver with Yanke where he accomplished a long hauler’s dream by accepting the Million Mile award in 2006. Lionel was involved with the union, town committees, coaching sports and even held a volunteer firefighter role. Throughout all of this, he managed to marry 3 times. Lionel was young at heart and loved his family and friends so very much. He is survived by his children: Tennille Anderson (Gord), Renee Chopko (Dennis), step children: Scott Anderson and Roberta Cole (Justin), his siblings: Marie Panas, Margarette Piche, Terry Anderson-Clyde (Ron), Jim Anderson (Sharon), Harvey Anderson (Idaho), Suzanne Bruneau (Fred), his grandchildren, his sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws and nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, wives Jan Anderson and Brenda Anderson, and brother Fred Anderson. The celebration of life will be with family and friends in Prince Albert. It is the family’s request that those wishing to place memorials do so at a charity of choice.
