According to data released by the City of Lloydminster, the number of residential units and detached units sold has gone down.
As part of an annual report released by the city, numbers were laid out from 2021 to 2023. Back in 2021, 529 residential units changed hands with the number dropping to 492 in 2022 and then down again in 2023 to 461.
The price of detached units slid from $316,357 in 2021 to $305,975 in 2022 before rising in 2023 to $320,896. The number of these detached units sold has also been on the decline, from 447 in 2021 to 413 in 2022 before falling to 363 in 2023.
“In 2024, year-to-date, 339 homes have been sold in Lloydminster,” said Harpreet Christie, Lloydminster RE/MAX owner.
Christie says a significant number of out-of-province buyers are moving to Lloydminster which has boosted the market. She also says Lloyd caters to a diverse range of buyers, from first time homebuyers to those seeking luxury properties.”
Christie says, “the market is thriving, interest rates are currently favourable making it a good time to buy.”
