The Emergency Training Centre (ETC) at Lakeland College Vermilion’s Fire and Emergency Services Program is set to host an information session for potential future first responders.
The info session will be held on Aug. 9 with registration starting at 8:30 a.m. The official schedule is from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. with ETC activities including:
- demos on the Emergency Training Centre training field
- talking to current students about their Lakeland experience
- touring the Hallway of Helmets (see photo)
- learning how our students get more hands-on training than available anywhere else
- lunch is provided at noon
Optional activities in the afternoon from 1 to 3 p.m. include:
- touring the Vermilion campus including residence and recreation facilities
- applying to a program – we’ll help you complete your application
- getting questions about financial aid answered
- learning about our support services
“We’ve got a lot to be proud of at the ETC and can’t wait to show our future students the many advantages they’ll find at Lakeland,” said ETC dean Shawn McKerry.
“Our students have access to one of Canada’s largest training facilities, instructors with real industry experience, and the hands-on learning that prepares them to make a difference on the front lines.”
The ETC is home to the college’s emergency services technology, firefighter training, bachelor of applied business in emergency services and various industrial and municipal training programs.
