“Insanity” was a word overheard from a member of the crowd during the first annual Extreme Indian Relay held at Halstead Downs last night.
An estimated 2,000 people took in the sport, the oldest in Canada, on the Ex grounds. It is a mixture of horse wrangling and racing all put together on a three-lap race.
Riders jump off and jump on the next horse at the start of each lap, the winner is the one who does it fastest, while also not being disqualified for the many different rules.
Below are some of the scenes from last night’s races, you can still come out and check it out for yourself today, July 28, 2024, races start at 2 p.m.
