Lloydminster will be gobbling with excitement thanks to a donation to The Olive Tree.
The Meridian Source teamed up with several community-minded partners to purchase turkeys for The Olive Tree's annual Thanksgiving meal.
The Meridian Source isn't just a news outlet. Sure, we're your local daily online source for news with a Thursday print edition, however, we also know the importance of supporting the community.
The Source garnered $1,160 through donations from several advertising clients to purchase turkeys for the non-profit's Oct. 14 meal.
Becky Schille, executive director at The Olive Tree, was over the moon while accepting the cheque on Oct. 10.
"We love this support of the community. We need donations and support to do what we do," said Schille. "It's also important to know people in the community believe in what we're doing."
The Olive Tree's Thanksgiving meal feeds roughly 125 people annually and is held at the Fred North Community Centre.
"I want to thank everyone who donated. Every little bit helps and we're very appreciative of the support," she said.
Schille and the Source thank everyone who pitched in.
