Bonnyville council has appointed Coun. Neil Langridge to the Bonnyville and District Leisure Facility Corporation Board of Directors.
Administration received an email from the general manager of the Bonnyville and District Centennial Centre (C2) advising all members-at-large were removed following a motion at a board meeting.

The plan is to proceed with a board consisting of elected officials appointed only from the MD of Bonnyville and the Town of Bonnyville.
Currently, Mayor Elisa Brosseau and Coun. Byron Johnson are both on the board as elected officials.
Due to the board’s motion to remove members-at-large, C2 requested the town appoints another representative.
Johnson nominated Coun. Neil Langridge for the vacant position. He was then asked if he was willing to accept the nomination.
“I will accept madam mayor, I just want to point out I do work for an organization that uses that building. I would obviously remove myself from any conflicts that arise from that on a part of the board, but would be happy to accept the nomination,” said Langridge.
Johnson quickly clarified it wouldn’t be an issue.
“Just for clarification, that’s very minimal that comes up, I don’t see it being a problem,” he said.
Council passed the motion appointing Langridge to the board.
