SIRT to investigate North Battleford RCMP

Saskatchewan Serious Incident Response Team (SIRT) is investigating after a 31-year-old man was arrested in North Battleford on April 19.

The man was wanted on warrants from March and October 2023.

RCMP located the individual in a home on 107 St. and ordered the individual to vacate the home. The man refused police direction to exit the residence.

Police contained the area to keep the public safe and police dog services helped execute a warrant to enter the home.

Meanwhile, officers searched the home and found the man hiding in the attic.

However, shortly after his arrest, the man went into medical distress. Officers gave him first aid while calling emergency medical services. EMS took him to hospital for further care.

Additionally, the Saskatchewan RCMP’s General Investigation Section will look into the arrest and what led to the man’s injuries.
