The man accused of murdering a father and his two sons in Lloydminster in September 2024 remains in custody. He will appear in Lloydminster court in June.
According to the Lloydminster division of the Saskatchewan Provincial Court, Nakota Rayne Pooyak, 31, of Sweetgrass First Nations, remains behind bars. He has yet to make a plea.

According to the Criminal Justice Information Management System, Pooyak is adjourned for election in Lloydminster on June 16, 2025 “(For) the second degree murders of Brent Peters, Brennan Peters, and Matthew Peters … he is still in custody.”
RCMP accuse Pooyak of shooting all three men in what they describe as a targeted attack. The incident occurred in the northeast portion of the city.
Prosecutors officially charged Pooyak in January.
