Battlefords RCMP responded to a report of an injured male in an alleyway behind a residence on 105 St. at approximately 4 p.m. on Tuesday.

The man, identified by police as Tyson Mosquito of North Battleford, was transported to hospital by paramedics where he was later pronounced deceased. His family has been notified.

Investigators are now treating the death as suspicious and are calling on the public for assistance. Residents in the 105 St. area are asked to review home security or doorbell camera footage captured between 3:40 p.m. and 4 p.m. on April 28.

“If your device captured images or videos of suspicious activity, please report it to police immediately,” the RCMP said in an April 29 release.

Police also want to speak with anyone who was in contact with Mosquito in the hours or days leading up to his death.

A heavy police presence is expected to remain in the 105 St. area for an undetermined period while the investigation continues. While no further details were released, the RCMP stated they would notify the public if any imminent risk to safety is identified.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Saskatchewan RCMP at 310-RCMP or submit an anonymous tip through Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
