Lloydminster man dead after rollover near Frenchman Butte

A 40-year-old Lloydminster man is dead following a single-vehicle rollover near Frenchman Butte on Thursday morning.

Onion Lake RCMP responded to the crash on Highway 797 at about 11:30 a.m. on July 2. Local fire and emergency medical services also attended the scene.

According to police, the man was the sole occupant of the vehicle. He was being transported to hospital by EMS when he was declared deceased.

His family has been notified, and his identity has not been released.

A Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist is assisting Onion Lake RCMP with the ongoing investigation.

Highway 797 remains closed for an undetermined period while emergency crews clear the scene and investigate. Detours have been put in place, and motorists are advised to expect delays, slow down, and follow the directions of emergency personnel.
