An Onion Lake man is facing several charges after officers seized an imitation firearm, fentanyl and methamphetamine during a recent investigation in Edmonton.

On Aug. 12, members of the Saskatchewan RCMP’s Lloydminster Saskatchewan Trafficking Response Team (STRT) spotted two people with a firearm in a parking lot on 103 St. Northwest in Edmonton.
With assistance from the Edmonton Police Service, officers moved in to make arrests.
Police say the male suspect resisted and attempted to flee before being taken into custody. A search yielded an imitation firearm, 5.2 grams of fentanyl, 3.7 grams of methamphetamine, cash and drug trafficking paraphernalia.
A female suspect was arrested without incident and later released without charges.
Corey Meesto, 36, of Onion Lake, has been charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, resisting a peace officer, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, carrying a concealed weapon, trafficking in property obtained by crime under $5,000 and failing to comply with court conditions.
Meesto was also arrested on outstanding warrants from the Edmonton Police Service and Lloydminster RCMP.
He is scheduled to appear in Edmonton Provincial Court on Aug. 20.
The St. Albert RCMP also assisted with the investigation, which remains ongoing by the Lloydminster STRT.
