Data for February 2026 shows a major jump. The province’s wholesale trade increased by 15.3 per cent compared to last year. This is the highest year-over-year growth rate among all Canadian provinces.
Total wholesale trade in Saskatchewan reached $4 billion for the month. This marks a 3.1 per cent increase from January 2026.
“Saskatchewan’s economy continues to lead the nation,” said trade and export development minister Warren Kaeding. “Our wholesale trade numbers reflect the strength of our producers and exporters.”
These figures track the value of goods bought in bulk for resale. However, the data excludes petroleum, oilseeds and grains.
The province’s momentum extends beyond trade. Recent data shows Saskatchewan’s real GDP hit a record high of $83.6 billion in 2024. The province now ranks second in Canada for real GDP growth. This surpasses the national average of two per cent.
Officials credit a 12 per cent increase in private capital investment. This totaled $13.6 billion last year. It remains a primary driver of provincial growth.
“Saskatchewan has what the world wants,” Kaeding said. “Our government remains committed to growing the provincial economy.”
The province attributes this success to its decade-long investment strategy. The goal is to secure more industrial interest over the coming years.
