Saskatchewan is making a major pitch to solidify its position as a global nuclear energy powerhouse as Premier Scott Moe leads a trade mission to the United Kingdom.

Moe is attending the World Nuclear Symposium and Canada-U.K. Nuclear Day in London to showcase the province’s expertise across the uranium and nuclear supply chain.
The European mission also includes Jeremy Harrison, minister responsible for the Crown Investments Corporation, who is joining the symposium following a defence industry trade show in Poland.
“Our province has what it takes to be a world leader in nuclear energy development with our extensive uranium resources, nuclear research infrastructure and supply chain capabilities,” Moe said in a statement.
Saskatchewan holds the largest high-grade uranium deposits in the world. The trade mission comes amid rapidly growing commercial ties between Saskatchewan and the British market.
According to provincial figures, exports to the U.K. grew 177.9 per cent over five years, reaching $587.6 million in 2025. Uranium shipments drove the surge, accounting for 57.1 per cent of all exports to the country last year.
Delegates representing uranium giant Cameco Corp. and the Saskatchewan First Nations Centre of Excellence are also joining provincial officials at the trade events.
Harrison pointed to the global demand for clean energy solutions as a key driver for international partnerships.
“From our world-class uranium resources to our expertise across the nuclear sector, we have what the world needs,” Harrison said.
“This mission showcases our strengths, deepens relationships with industry and government leaders and creates new opportunities for Saskatchewan’s nuclear sector.”
Saskatchewan currently maintains a permanent trade and investment office in London to support its international expansion efforts.
