On April 25, officers from the Saskatchewan RCMP’s North Battleford crime reduction team and the Wilkie detachment executed a search warrant at a residence in Wilkie.
During the search, which included assistance from police dog services, investigators seized a large amount of copper wire, methamphetamine, a firearm and a prohibited firearm.
While two women were arrested at the scene and later released without charges, police have charged Marlon Marchewka with 12 offences.
The counts include possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and several weapons-related charges, such as unauthorized possession of a firearm and unsafe storage.
As a result of the search, Wilkie RCMP were also able to clear a separate investigation involving a copper wire theft from a grain elevator earlier this month. That incident reportedly resulted in significant damages to the facility.
Marchewka faces additional charges of break and enter, theft over $5,000 and mischief over $5,000 in relation to the elevator theft.
The accused appeared in Battleford Provincial Court on April 27.
Saskatchewan RCMP say the investigation remains ongoing.
