RCMP say all students and staff are safe and one individual has been taken into custody.

Police are asking the public to avoid the area while officers remain on scene.

The Lloydminster Public School Division released the following statement on the matter:

“LCHS was placed in lockdown as a precautionary measure in response to a student-related situation. RCMP were notified and responded to the school.

There is no immediate threat to students or staff. The lockdown has now been reduced to a hold and secure while RCMP remain on site and complete their response.

Students and staff are safe. We will provide another update once RCMP has completed its work and the all-clear has been given.”
