Trade and export development minister Warren Kaeding and advanced education minister Ken Cheveldayoff launched the mission, which runs from Oct.10 to 16.
While abroad, Kaeding is scheduled to meet with business leaders and government officials to discuss food security, critical minerals, energy, and sustainability. Cheveldayoff will connect with higher education counterparts and post-secondary research institutions to expand academic collaboration and showcase the province’s agricultural expertise.
Both ministers will also represent Saskatchewan at the federal government’s Team Canada Trade Mission programming on October 14 in Mumbai. Representatives from the University of Saskatchewan are joining the delegation to support ongoing industry and research partnerships.
India remains a major trading partner for Saskatchewan. In 2025, provincial exports to the country reached $827 million, anchored by potash, lentils, and peas. Trade numbers have continued to climb, surging 155 per cent year-to-date.
The province’s India office has played a central role in driving export growth, most notably facilitating a historic $2.6-billion agreement between Cameco and India’s Department of Atomic Energy during a mission in March.
