The Lloydminster RCMP Detachment is asking seniors how they can serve them better.
The Lloydminster Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Committee, created by detachment commander, Lee Brachmann, welcomes feedback on six topics sent to the Lloydminster Concerned Citizens for Seniors Care Society.
Graham Brown, president of the Concerned Citizens, noted the request for input was sent to members Ruby Trudel and Dr. Raff Sayeed, who sit on the police committee.
“They are trying to survey the community and maybe get some help about what the community thinks about what they’re doing and how they’re doing it, and do we have any suggestions,” explained Brown.
“There are six questions, so we’ll have some time next week to have a look at those.”
One of the questions is ‘what are your teams hearing from the community about crime in Lloydminster?’
Another is how can the RCMP work more with the community and/or Concerned Citizens to address some of the root causes of crime and public safety issues?
Brown says the survey is a follow-up to their AGM last September when Brachmann talked about the diversity and inclusion committee.
“It’s nice to have a voice with the policing. There’s always a concern with elders abuse; that’s always something that we try to keep our eye on,” added Brown.
